Site Notes & Housecleaning Items
Writing has been slow lately, mainly due to the fact that I’ve been gone since Saturday at the SMX Social Media Marketing event down in Scottsdale, AZ. (It was, by all accounts, excellent. I highly recommend attending next year’s event.)
Before the trip, I was also working on some changes and upgrades here on the SBSM blog:
1.) There’s a new blog theme in place. I’m using WP-Clear from Solostream and liking it so far. If you haven’t visited in a while, and only read the RSS feed, come have a look and say hello.
2.) I’m finally following my own advice and offering an email subscription for new blog posts. This is something I recommend every time I speak at the GetListed.org Local University workshops. In the upper right of the blog, you’ll see a subscription form — enter your email and you’ll get all new posts delivered right to your Inbox. And you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking a link that’s included in every email. Without publicizing the email option (until now), more than 30 of you have already subscribed in the two weeks since the form showed up there. Thanks!
3.) I’ve changed how I offer advertising on the blog. You used to see four or six small, 125×125 ad banners on the right. Those are gone, and I’m now only offering one ad space that’s much larger: 300×250. And, advertising will now be exclusive — I’m only allowing one advertiser at a time, so there won’t be any competition for attention. All of the blog advertising details have been updated if you’re interested. And, by the way, the ad space is vacant right now — you see Google Adsense ads, but those will be replaced by the next advertiser to sign up for exposure here on SBSM.
So that’s about all for now. Blogging should resume to normal levels very soon. It’s up to you whether you consider that a promise or a threat. 🙂
