SEO in the News…

The new issue of Entrepreneur magazine arrived over the weekend with a cover story on local search: Go Local. Hate to sound like I’m patting myself on the back, but the article is pretty similar to the Local Search Marketing Guide posted here on SBS last year — though with a few interesting first-person accounts from small businesses using local search. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Greg Sterling features prominently as the “expert” voice in this article — to my knowledge, this is Greg’s 2nd “big” media appearance in the past two weeks. (Here’s the first.)

Reader favor: The magazine is offering a download of the “top 15 sites you need to advertise on locally” at this URL:

http://www.entrepreneur.com/checklists/localsites

That URL won’t work for me. If it will for you, would you mind DL’ing the file and sending a copy my way? Much appreciated.

Meanwhile, the new issue of Fast Company magazine ends with an “open debate” on the premise, Resolved: Google is overrated. Donna Bogatin of ZDNet takes the “yay” side, and Danny Sullivan takes the “nay” side. You can read the debate here. Not only does Danny win the debate, but he also manages to look strikingly young in the process. See for yourself….

Seriously, my wife saw this and thought he looks about 15 years old.
