See Google’s Supplemental Index in Action

Google logoInteresting discovery by “2K” over at the SEOmoz.org blog — a query format that lets you see what pages are in Google’s supplemental index for any domain. It looks like this:

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.smallbusinesssem.com/ ***

For example, as I type this Google has 127 supplemental index listings for SmallBusinessSEM.com.

My gut feeling is that this query is not perfect, but it does give a web site owner or webmaster a good, general overview of the quantity of pages in the supplemental index — and that’s the first step toward determining if you have a supplemental problem on your hands.

If you do, there’s help right here on SBS: Gone Supplemental in Google? Get out…
