More on Local SEO and San Francisco Bakery results

This is just a quick follow-up to yesterday’s post about the vagaries of Local SEO and, specifically, rankings in the all-important Google Maps seven-pack. David Pavlicko has dug a little deeper into the citations of those top seven bakeries, and posted some findings here:

Local SEO Citations: Reponse to SBSM

In the end, I’m not sure David has uncovered anything definitive, but he definitely has some interesting stats and charts in there that are worth your time to review. In my post, I admitted that I hadn’t dug nearly as deep as I could’ve and invited others to do so … so thank you, David, for taking me up on that.

Thanks for the plug, Matt! Yeah, while there might be some nuggets of goodness somewhere in all of this – whether or not the same strategy would work for other service-based businesses is up in the air.

For example, I doubt having your plumbing client get a citation from tastyr.com would help much. yuck. Maybe I should’ve picked a different business, but you get my point.

    Anyway-Thanks again.:)

Nice reference and a great article and fun read.
