Minor Change for Feed Subscribers

Quick note: If you get the Small Business Search Marketing feed, no longer will it include a once-a-day recap of URLs that I’ve bookmarked on delicious.com. My wife will be exceptionally pleased with this change because she’s always been disappointed when she sees what looks like a new post in her feed reader, then clicks it and finds just a couple links. Maybe some of you will be equally thrilled? 🙂

I started doing that as a way to give exposure in my feed to SEO/marketing articles that didn’t warrant a “Hey, check out this article” blog post. But Twitter has pretty much taken over those responsibilities, and I’ve been forced to limit my use of delicious.com, knowing that anything I save will show up in this blog’s feed. So now that the delicious links are gone from this feed, I have bookmarking freedom. 🙂

I’m with Cari. There’s always such anticipation leading up to your consistently excellent posts. Delicious links are just not the same because they rarely meet your standard for content! 😀

Regardless of what Mrs. McGee may think of me, I actually liked your bookmark posts. I always thought to myself “if Matt’s bookmarking this, it’s probably something I should at least view”. In fact, most of the time I ended up bookmarking the page myself. That’s too bad. 🙁

It looks like I’m against the commenters here and with your wife, I much prefer just seeing your normal posts!

    Cheers,

I have mixed feelings. I don’t think the delicious bookmarks should stop. Maybe just less frequent. I have found a number of them to be great pieces of information.

I would definitely enjoy seeing more of your normal posts. Maybe a series of posts using the TC Herald as a case study of how to use social media (Twitter & Facebook) properly. 😉

It’s not my wife that’s driving the decision, I just mentioned her cuz she’s happy with it. The driving factor is that I’d like to be able to use my delicious account freely to bookmark all kinds of content, which I can’t do when they all show up in this feed. 🙂
