Local Search & Facebook: A Few Changes

Filed in Local Search, Social Media by Matt McGee on July 9, 2013

An update to my previous post on what local search looks like in Facebook’s Graph Search:

Facebook has started rolling out Graph Search fully to US users, and over the last six months, there’ve been a few changes in how local businesses show up in Graph Search local results.

The primary change that I’ve noticed is that text from a Facebook Page’s “About” section has been added to listings. I’ve seen this on restaurants (below), churches and hotels. Phone numbers are also showing up and, sometimes, the “like” count doesn’t appear.

  1. Oh, I am so sad that “Like” count does not appear anymore. Well, even though, I still love Facebook. It is really useful in my everyday life most specially in my business.
