Catching Up: Chocolate, Small Biz PPC, and Links
I’ve just finished several hundred blog posts going back to the middle of last week, when I started falling behind. Yeah, I missed a lot. This one should get me caught up.
First, thanks to Boris Mordkovich for sharing with me a complimentary copy of Search Marketing Standard magazine. I recall seeing the very first issue some time ago, and I believe I saw another issue back at SES Chicago in December. Having finally taken a look at the most recent issue, I’m impressed with how the magazine has grown and improved over time. This latest issue features articles from very recognizable names like Eric Ward, Patricia Hursh, David Temple, and Joe Whyte. And Boris very generously sent a bar of dark chocolate from Colombia, too. Yes, file that under using food as linkbait — though I’m guessing the chocolate doesn’t come with every issue! SMS also has a very good blog which I’ve linked to several times in the past. Thanks again to Boris and the SMS crew.
What else has been going on?…
Jeremiah pointed out a San Francisco Chronical article about small businesses succeeding with PPC: Small businesses find pay-per-click ads can be economical tool.
Here are some of the links that might’ve been in last week’s Link-o-Rama if I’d not fallen behind:

- Conference Review: SMX Advanced, Seattle 2007

Matt,
I got hosed – I didn’t get the bar of chocolate with the magazine! I gave them a good review, too. 🙂
Speaking of chocolate, do you know that Hershey’s is lobbying the FDA to change the official meaning of the word ‘chocolate’ so that they can start putting a bunch of weird junk in it and still call it Chocolate?
Sorry if this is off-topic, Matt…I read this on Reddit or somewhere last week and your post brought it back to mind. 🙂
Miriam
For real, Miriam? Ha. No, I had no idea about that.
No worries about being off-topic. The comments belong to the readers, so as long as it’s not obscene or distasteful … go for it. 🙂
Pat – sorry, dude. It was good, too. But tell yourself it was terrible, okay?
Patrick,
We can fix the chocolate problem. Just shoot me another email with your address and I’ll get it out to you ASAP!

Boris,
Only joking! 🙂 Your magazine and it’s great content was plenty. Thanks again for sending it along.
