2010 SEMMY Finalists Announced
Finalists for the 2010 SEMMY Awards were announced this morning on www.semmys.org. Thanks to the 20+ judges who gave their time and energy to reading the nominees and selecting the articles that would make the finals.
Public voting is open now in all 17 categories, and will remain open through end-of-day this Friday (January 29). Winners will be announced next Monday, February 1st.
If you’re a finalist, and you’d like a shot at winning, I’d suggest you blog about being a finalist, post on Twitter or Facebook, etc. History shows that winners are traditionally active in marketing their status as finalists, which is perhaps as it should be since this is a marketing-related award. So tell your readers/followers what’s going on and invite them to vote (but not to spam the voting).
With that in mind :-), I’ve made the finals in three categories:
- Local Search, but I don’t deserve your vote here; there are better finalists to choose from. I voted for David Mihm’s “Local Search Ranking Factors.”
- Small Business
- Online Marketing / General
No matter — my hope is that you’ll spend a few moments reading the finalists’ articles and voting for who you think is most deserving in any/all categories.
Of course, when the organizer of the awards actively markets your nomination for you, it’s not as important LOL 😀
Srsly, I need to get a post up on Mihmorandum about it ASAP though.
