Social Media Advice in Action
By Matt McGee on Nov 5, 2007 in Social Media
I don’t know how it works in your life, but in mine the SEO advice I give (to clients, friends, my spouse, etc.) isn’t always put in action. So what a pleasant surprise this week as I was on Yahoo! Answers and came upon these two answers:

One of the tips I gave in my presentation on Yahoo! Answers was to sign your name when leaving a link in your answer; the reason is that spammers just drop links, and you want to distinguish yourself from those folks as much as possible.

Doh. Looks like I missed that recommendation. I’ve been using Yahoo Answers a lot lately, trying to get to LVL 3, but with quality answers not a quantity. I’ve noticed new Yahoo Answers questions are getting indexed in Google EXTREMELY fast lately.

To be honest i really enjoyed the session. I was always toying with the idea of getting into Yahoo Answers and decided to take your advice and jumped in.
I have a 73% best answer ratio and have 19 best answers. All since the conference and starting my account up.
I think your advice helped me out and was good stuff.
Cheers.
