In the comments of last week’s Friday Night Link-o-Rama here on SBS, Anita Campbell of Small Business Trends mentioned that she’s looking for examples of small businesses that have moved to an online-only business structure. I e-mailed her today and asked for some more info. about that request. Here’s the scoop straight from Anita:

“My sense is that even brick and mortar businesses are doing more online these days, but I specifically want examples of those making a break from the physical world. Or, if not a complete break from the physical world, then companies that have moved an entire function or service online that they used to do in the physical world. Customer service might be an example, through instituting an online help desk and knowledgebase and email support to take the place of a telephone support unit. Another example might be lead generation moving 100% online, using AdWords, landing pages and completion of online lead forms to take the place of cold calling, etc.

If that describes you, or someone you know, Anita would like to hear from you for a magazine article she’s working on. Send an e-mail to anitablog…..at…..gmail.com with your contact info., your web site URL, and a sentence or two about your company.

Sounds like it might be a good opportunity for exposure for some small businesses out there in readerville.

We’ve worked with online customers only for a few years now. However, just lately we’ve started to go back the other way and deal more with local bricks-and-mortar businesses who are in need of our services.
