SBS: Local Search Marketing Guide
By Matt McGee on Jun 11, 2006 in Local Search
After a couple weeks worth of research, I’ve finally completed … no, wrong word … I’ve finally gotten far enough along with a guide to local search marketing to make it public here on SBS.
Local search is wide open right now, with no clear-cut winner emerging yet among the major players. Google has the best maps, Yahoo offers the best content and user experience, and MSN … well, nevermind for now. They’re too new to have any momentum yet. And there are other local search opportunities outside the main SEs, with sites such as CitySearch or MerchantCircle. All of these are addressed in the Local Search Marketing Guide.
That said, I don’t consider it complete; it’ll always be a work-in-progress as new players and new offerings emerge. And as you’ll read on the intro page, I’m welcome to any suggested corrections or additions. Feedback is always appreciated!
