Night Off for the Seattle Search Bloggers

Filed in Off-Topic by Matt McGee on June 26, 2007 7 Comments

I’ve decided tonight was “Unofficial Search Marketing Night at Safeco Field.” There was a bunch of us from Marchex enjoying a pre-game BBQ and then watching a terrific game, made all the better by the Mariners beating the much-hated Red Sox 8-7. Woot!

And at the game, I bumped into none other than Rand and fiancΓ©e Geraldine from SEOmoz, along with Jonathan Mendez and friend/co-worker Peter (didn’t get his last name!) from OTTO Digital. Cool beans! (All we needed was Vanessa Fox, Tom Schmitz, and John Andrews, and I think we would’ve had a quorum.)

Blogging will pick up soon here on SBS. Rand will surely show me up by doing one of his patented 1:30 a.m. mega-posts, but I’m gonna read a bit and call it a night…….

Matt – I’m still working on my post, but hoping I can eek it out before 1:30am… may not be likely, given how much I want to put into it, but we’ll see.

Great to see you at the game – we should have taken a photo together! Maybe next time – we’re still hoping to have you on for Whiteboard Friday. πŸ™‚

You did!! #$@!#% And you even posted it 11 minutes before this post. You son of a …. πŸ™‚

It was great to see you, too. I had my camera (obviously) and never thought to grab a pic — would’ve been a great background down where your seats were.

I’ll come by one of these days and hang out, but I don’t know if you’ll ever get me video. πŸ™‚

The only thing worse than the game last night was the 11th inning sweep today – unbelievable! I enjoy reading your blog. The SEL post last week was great – waiting for the sequel!

I don’t know what on earth you’re talking about, dedmond29 … today’s game was even better than last night’s!! Well, the highlights were. Go Mariners! And to be fair, I don’t really hate the Red Sox. I hate the Yankees, so I usually root for the Sox. Just not against the M’s….

Vanessa — we’ll make sure to get you a ticket next time. πŸ™‚

Funny how things go. I was at Zeitgeist at the start of the game, watching the Red Sox fans go by with their fire red target-like uniforms. And I had a meeting downstairs from Marchex at 2pm. And I Amtrak’d up to Vancouver with the all-too-happy fans in the afternoon (cafe car was all song, all the way north). It was a Seattle baseball day in all ways except… I didn’t know I would be missed at the game!

It would’ve been good to meet you, John. Give me a yell next time you’re near our building.
