I pitched a presentation on Hyperlocal Blogging as part of the Local Search Tactics panel at SMX West, and have my fingers crossed that I’ll get a chance to do that panel. To my knowledge, no one’s ever given a presentation on local blogging at a major search conference.

Colleen (the wife) found your article through Twitter.
I think the hyperlocal blogging idea is a great idea. A year or two ago I put together city-specific sites under the same premise. In fact, I was thinking about converting them to WordPress blogs. For SEO purposes, I wonder if placing the sites on different IP addresses would be of benefit. Also, I wonder if the blogs would be better suited as subdomains (i.e.www.somehyperblog.yourdomain.com)
Nice blog, btw. We go to same church (or at least I see Cari’s name in the Discovery Zone)!
