Local Search Whitepaper & New Blog
By Matt McGee on Sep 12, 2007 in Local Search
Several of my co-workers have been busy working on a couple projects related to local search, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention them here on SBS:
1.) “Unlocking the potential of the local Internet” is a 13-page snapshot of where the local search industry is now, and where it’s headed. There’s a lot of stuff to chew on in the report, and it introduced me to a couple local search companies/players that I was unaware of.
2.) LocalPoint is a local-oriented blog that launched this week. It’s a group blog, and yours truly will be one of the contributors. But don’t let that stop you from checking it out and subscribing.
(BTW, I’m not responsible for the title given to me on the “About” page….)

Hi Matt,
I just went over to Local Point. That looks like it will be an interesting resource and I’ve added to my feed.
A couple of suggestions. Mike Blumenthal ought to be in the blogroll there. He’s really got one of the best local blogs, I think.
The other thing would be an icon for the RSS feed. I was looking for it, but didn’t see it, and then realized it was just a text link. I do like how those icons jump out at one as a plea to be added.
Good luck with this new venture. If you’re over there, it’s got to be good…Mr. SEO Expert. Haha.
