Local Search Whitepaper & New Blog

Marchex logoSeveral of my co-workers have been busy working on a couple projects related to local search, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention them here on SBS:

1.) “Unlocking the potential of the local Internet” is a 13-page snapshot of where the local search industry is now, and where it’s headed. There’s a lot of stuff to chew on in the report, and it introduced me to a couple local search companies/players that I was unaware of.

2.) LocalPoint is a local-oriented blog that launched this week. It’s a group blog, and yours truly will be one of the contributors. But don’t let that stop you from checking it out and subscribing. ;) (BTW, I’m not responsible for the title given to me on the “About” page….)

    Hi Matt,
I just went over to Local Point. That looks like it will be an interesting resource and I’ve added to my feed.

A couple of suggestions. Mike Blumenthal ought to be in the blogroll there. He’s really got one of the best local blogs, I think.

The other thing would be an icon for the RSS feed. I was looking for it, but didn’t see it, and then realized it was just a text link. I do like how those icons jump out at one as a plea to be added.

Good luck with this new venture. If you’re over there, it’s got to be good…Mr. SEO Expert. Haha.
    Miriam
