LOL - I always have the exact OPPOSITE reaction at conferences!  I am not NEARLY as interested in "industry trends" as I am in how to take ADVANTAGE of industry trends...seems like it is much easier to talk about what is coming next than it is to give tips on HOW to prepare for it.  Your HyperLocal blogging is a great example.  Yes, you coined the term and talked about its growing importance before anyone, but you ALSO give plenty of actionable tips on how to blog with HyperLocal focus in mind.
