GetListed Local University: Spokane is One Week Away
By Matt McGee on Jan 28, 2010 in Conferences/Educ.

The first edition of GetListed.org Local University is just one week away, and I’m looking forward to helping kick off what I think will be a great series of seminars for small/local businesses. This first one is set for next Thursday, February 4th in Spokane. There’ll be two identical half-day seminars.
I’ll be speaking about the intersection of local search of social media: Should a small business have a blog? How can a small business get involved in social conversations on Twitter and Facebook? What about business reviews and reputation management? When I speak, I like to use Wordle to create a word collage about my topic. Here’s the collage that starts my presentation:

How to Save $50 on Registration
The seminar costs $129, but you can use the coupon code “mcgee2010″ to register for only $79. I’d sign-up soon, because space in each session is limited to only 100 people and this event is being promoted heavily in Spokane.
Hope to see you in Spokane next Thursday!

Looking forward to the recap of this. Should a small business have a blog, a facebook page? and if so, who should manage it and how much rep. mgmt. experience should they have? I can’t see Yelp in the collage, but I hope that get’s covered too!

There’s a little bit of Yelp in there. It’s tough — I have a ton to cover (64 slides) and only 30 minutes to do it, so won’t be going into great depth. But should still have good, actionable info and ideas for attendees.

That sounds good. Attendees are in for a really insightful session. 2.1 slides a minute – you got it!
