Friday night link-o-rama

Some weekend reading you might enjoy….
Jenn Laycock has (finally!) wrapped up her three-part article series at Search Engine Guide called “How to Win Links and Influence People.” Lots to think about in these articles on link building, one of the most difficult aspects of SEO.
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
Justin Sanger writes about the current status of pay-per-call advertising on ClickZ.com, and the need to include call tracking in any use of this new advertising model.
Using a unique local or toll-free number, an advertiser can track all phone calls associated with his interactive marketing efforts. In this way, the SME can understand the relative cost associated with paying for advertising on the basis of a call, without being confined by the pay-per-call model’s limitations.
And finally, an Internet Retailer article detailing one retailer’s methods of increasing its search engine visibility. Tool King used to be a small business, but has grown into one of the top retailers on the web. In the IR article, they detail a two-pronged approach for increasing SE visibility:
- Break down product categories into sub-categories, giving crawlers more keyword-rich pages to spider, and
- Create a separate informational site with product details, buying guides, operational advice, etc.
More great content = more pages able to be spidered.
Have a great weekend!
