Found Spam on Google Maps? Tell Google…

Google Maps logoThis could get fun. Googler “Maps Guide Jen” is inviting Maps users to submit spam reports via the Google Maps for Business Owners group on Google Groups. Here’s the link:

This is a good idea and welcome move, but hopefully a more formal process will come down the pike in the future.

    Yes, indeed it’s a good step forward however I think they should provide a more discrete (not public) way as well.

    That’s great to know.

    Can we also report local results that lead people to businesses that have been closed for some time and therefore not the best use of placement in Maps or local search results.

    I’m not talking large franchises with additional locations, but other Mom ‘n Pop outlets.

    This is the “new wave” of “SEO” for Google Maps.
    Create a Word Press Blog, and host in from within the site, and load it with every possible search string repeated 10,000 times.
    Google Crawlers think it is a page with deep links.
