Yahoo Local Adds New Features
By Matt McGee on Sep 13, 2006 in Local Search, Yahoo
Surprising that there’s no official announcement of this on the Yahoo Local blog, but the service has a couple new features as of this evening.
The new Collections tool lets you make lists such as “favorite Seattle hotels” or “favorite Bay Area restaurants”, and save them for quicker future access. When you make a Collection, you can choose to make it private or allow the public to view it, too. Any user can view the public Collections of other users, which can be a helpful referral service of sorts. You can also add photos and tags to your Collections.
For the sake of managing all your Collections, reviews, tags, etc., there’s also a new “My Local” dashboard that can be accessed from a fairly ubiquitous orange button in the upper right of most pages.
